Smith FS200 Portable Gas Powered Pavement Scarifier

The Smith FS200 is a cost-effective yet fantastic pavement scarifier to remove unwanted paint or thermoplastic from concrete or asphalt pavements.

This pavement scarifier is great for small businesses or crews that are starting out in the line striping industry and need to remove paint or thermoplastic from sidewalks or streets, asphalt or concrete.  It's perfect for small to medium jobs where line removal is needed but isn't the main objective of the job.

Weighing in at 125 lbs (57 kg), it's a lightweight, fast, and easy to use pavement scarifier that is rugged enough to withstand daily punishment.

You can also change out the cutters on the Smith FS200 with a variety of removal tools to handle virtually any surface-preparation project you might run into.

We sell the FS200 with the Flail-It drum which consists of tungsten carbide 8 tip cutters that can be configured in widths between 4" up to 8".  This drum setup is powerful enough to handle thermoplastic with ease and takes off paint that much easier.

Construction: All-steel unitized heavy-duty construction, with industrial safety-yellow with black belt guard and grade-8 fasteners.

Power: 5.5 HP Honda gasoline engine, easy-start with oil alert, manual shutoff, and exclusive emergency engine stop with corded safety stop lanyard and speed control throttle cable at the handle.

Cut controls: Dual depth control settings, (1) quick-set lever to engage and disengage cutter drum, and (2) hand wheel for fine adjustments.

Drive System: Maintenance-free dual sealed bearing hex drive system (no grease required) and industrial grade tri-V belt-drive pulley with safety guard.

Dust and Debris Control: Chip shrouded brush guard for dust and debris control with vacuum dust-collection port and cap.

Drive wheels: Balanced all-steel rear wheel carrier for depth control, with twin 5" OD x 2" W wheels. Front single feathering caster wheel (for smoothing scarified surfaces) and front fixed wheel (for removing straight lines).

Operator Push Handles: Height adjustable with vibration tension setting handlebar and heavyduty comfort ergonomic grips. Lifting rings and tie downs for easy transport.

Quick Cutter-Drum Access: Removable side plate for the side-loading drum with no exposed parts

Choice of Cutter Tool Drums: To Flail-it, Strip-it 4N1, Mill-it, Scrape-it, Finish-it, or Cure-it. In fine, medium, coarse off-set, or inline removal patterns to prepare, and leave a variety of surface profile finishes are optional
