Using a handheld plumber's torch, Crack-Stix® provides an easy and affordable solution for repairing concrete pavement cracks. Even inexperienced DIY homeowners, small business owners, or property maintenance professionals can perform this task due to its small flame requirement.
Crack-Stix® is a permanent joint and crack sealer for both asphalt and concrete pavements. It is a direct heat rubberized sealant that is easy to use and ideal for driveways or small parking lots. The gray-colored product is perfect for filling cracks in concrete and is furnished as a solid "rope" with a 1/2" thickness. It is an elastomeric, self-leveling sealant that liquefies quickly and can be used in both concrete and asphalt pavements.
When applied correctly, Crack-Stix® exhibits superior adhesive power and resiliency, protecting against moisture and incompressibles through repeated thermal cycles of expansion and contraction. It also features superior low-temperature ductility, weather resistance, low oxidation breakdown, and is non-tracking.
Crack-Stix® is unique in that it is designed to be inserted into the crack or joint cavity first and then melted with a direct heat process. The patented modifier system contained in Crack-Stix® allows the material to withstand direct heat without degradation.
Introducing the GRAY version of Crack-Stix® Permanent Concrete Crack Filler, which is the same patented, hot-applied, permanent joint and crack filler as the black version available since 1999. The gray version is ideal for filling concrete or faded blacktop cracks and does not require a 200-gallon melter to apply.
It meets/exceeds ASTM C920-11 Standard Specifications for Elastomeric Joint Sealant and is paintable with latex paint, masonry waterproofing paint, or 2-component high solids epoxy. It is suitable for pedestrian and vehicular traffic areas and bonds to sidewalls due to its hot-applied, gray, rope-like filler. For narrow cracks, it can be stretched or spliced, and for larger cracks, it can be double over.
One 125ft (38.1M) medium gray Crack-Stix® is traffic-ready in 20 minutes and is chlorine-resistant, making it ideal for pool deck concrete joints. It is also VOC-free, but it is recommended to pre-warm the concrete before use if it is cold. The product is ready to use immediately with its melt-away wrapper, but customers can save time by purchasing either the CSX-900 Cane Torch Extender or the new walk-behind CSX-1000 Pro Melt Torch.
