Applying Coal Tar Asphalt Sealer in the winter time is not generally a service that most Sealcoating Contractors offer because Coal Tar is usually manufactured outdoors and not available in most locations through out the country after October and until April or until outdoor temperatures are warmer. This creates five to six months of "Down Time".
With increased Asphalt Emulsion production and creating facilities that allow the manufacturer to produce it indoors, the possibility of sealcoating in the winter now exists. Many aggressive contractors are beginning to use Asphalt Emulsion as their primary Asphalt Sealer because they can purchase it all winter long and it will comply with new EPA Standards that require the use of emulsion instead of coal tar, not to mention the fact that it is very safe to use.
Emulsion sealers should be applied only if it will be allowed to completely dry before the outdoor temperature falls below freezing or before any moisture such as rain or heavy fog. It normally dries very fast assuming that the outdoor humidity is below 40%.
Asphalt Sealcoating Direct offers high quality Asphalt Emulsion in bulk and shipped to your door.
