Description
PreMark® Preformed Thermoplastic products made by Ennis-Flint are top pick products within the thermomarking industry and do NOT require any pre-heating prior to installation. Simply place, heat and go.
PreMark is a heavy-duty preformed thermoplastic that is a very durable "intersection grade" pavement marking material. There are no minimum requirements on the ambient or road temperature requirements which allows pavement marking season to extend into the colder months.
The top surface of the material has regularly spaced heating indicators which provide a visual cue during application that the material has reached a molten state. This tells you when proper adhesion and bead embedment has been achieved. The heating indicators also provide a post-application visual cue that you installed it correctly and ready to move on.
Get a FHWA / ADA Handicap stencil (40" x 40") or an oversized non-standard (48" x 48") that works on both asphalt or concrete*
Shipped as a precut, ready-to-use package of 1 at 90 mils thickness with ViziGrip® per handicap template.
If you aren't familiar with ViziGrip, it's a product offered by Ennis-Flint for their preformed thermoplastic marking line. It includes glass beads along with a special aggregate to create an anti-skid marking. This PreMark handicap stencil comes standard with ViziGrip so you don't need to order it separately.
*Concrete requires pre-sealer before applying thermoplastic.

Do You Need Sealer?
Preformed Thermoplastic, while a great product, is still susceptible to contaminants and moisture that can prevent the preformed marking from sticking properly to the pavement. There are times when a sealer is required and times when
Pavement Type
Concrete: If you're applying a preformed marking to concrete, you must use sealer no matter what kind of marking you are using. Concrete traps moisture and contaminants like salt, that will seep to the surface and could eventually cause the marking to pop loose. If you're applying a preformed marking to concrete, always use a sealer.
Asphalt: Asphalt can go either way. If the asphalt is new and the top layer still contains the asphalt oils, then you don't need a sealer but if you want to throw caution to the wind, it won't hurt anything if you do. However, if the asphalt is old and oxidized, then you do need a sealer. If you're installing a multi-color marking on asphalt, it is highly recommended that you use a sealer, regardless of the asphalt age.
