Municipality’s and contractors use Calcium Chloride to melt ice and snow from roadways, driveways, and roofs because of its overall effectiveness and benefits over using sodium chloride. Our premium ice melt compound is 96% pure and works in temperatures as low as -40°F.Re-freezing will not occur, unlike rock salt because of its powerful exothermic generated heat which quickly melts through thick ice and snow accumulations.

This product is designed for municipalities, contractors, airports, schools and any large scale application where de-icing is necessary. Our premium grade BIG A Pellet Ice Melt will not harm lawns, trees or shrubs & leaves behind no residue making it ideal around landscapes and pets. It will not harm concrete or asphalt surfaces.

Business owners understand the risk involved by not keeping the ice melted and removed from parking lots and sidewalks and business entrances, it’s extremely important to use a quality grade snow melt so customers won’t slip on the ice possibly causing injury. And regular rock salt (sodium chloride) will leave residue and tracks on the floor causing needed clean-up.

This pelleted ice melt comes in a variety of sizes and can be applied with a broadcaster, or by sprayer making it convenient and easy to use. The round shape helps it penetrate ice and break the bond with the pavement surface faster than flat or crystal-shaped ice melters, allowing easy removal of ice and snow.

Besides snow and ice control, the second largest use for this product its use as a 35% liquid mixture applied from a spray application. A concentrated solution of this mixture keeps a liquid layer on the surface of dirt and gravel roads, which suppresses formation of fine dust. It keeps the finer dust particles on the road, providing a protective layer. If these finer particles are allowed to blow away, the large aggregate begins to shift around and the road breaks down. Using calcium chloride reduces the need for grading the road by as much as 50% and the need for fill-in materials as much as 80%.

Our premium BIG A Pellet Ice Melt will melt ice up to 3 times faster than competing materials and outperforms other products across a wide range of temperatures. For making 35% Calcium Chloride Liquid Solution, mix approximately 17 to 20 lbs of pellets in enough cold water to make 5 gallons of solution (Or 3.5 pounds of pellets per gallon of water). Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes or until completely dissolved. Use caution as the solution will get very warm. Apply using a plastic pump sprayer or similar equipment. Rinse any metal parts with fresh water when finished.
