Description
Get 5 Gallons of Plastech cold thermoplastic water based paint for parking lots and streets.
Plastech is a unique blend of high solids thermoplastic induced liquid paint that is a rapid cure with low VOC. Plastech can be cold spray applied using conventional airless paint spray equipment like the Titan or Graco units. Plastech is a fantastic alternate to hot applied powder or solid block thermoplastic traffic paint and can be used on streets, roads, pedestrian cross-walks, intersections, high build road signs and legends, turn arrows, stop bars, high traffic areas in parking lot decks, warehouses or anywhere a high quality thermoplastic paint is desired.
Plastech is a waterbased formula that produces a high build and contains special high solids acrylic latex that dries fast and makes it extremely durable.
The first coat to be sprayed, apply at 30 mils thickness wet and saturate with glass beads. Let the first coat dry and cure and remove any loose excess glass beads. Apply the second coat at 30 mils thickness wet, saturate with glass beads, let dry and cure. With two passes of paint, along with glass beads it will build up to 60 mils dry film thickness. The end result is the look and performance of conventional hot melt thermoplastic paints without the expensive overhead of hot applied thermoplastic application machines and pre-melters.
Cure time is around 20 minutes to touch at 77 degrees and 50% relative humidity; Full dry time is around 60 minutes dry through when applied at 30 mils with Glass beads.
Coverage is around 320 lineal feet of 4” wide line at 15 mils or 110 sqft per gallon.
Quality
We only sell paint that is guaranteed to be top quality commercial parking lot, curb and traffic paint. Our paint will equally match and usually beats anything you can buy at the store. We ship all of our paint straight from the manufacturing plant which means your paint is fresh by the time you get it, unlike the paint that might sit on the store shelf for a few months and believe it or not, will get recycled if it sits too long... Our paint is fresh, not blended or recycled.
The other thing we should mention about the quality is that our paint is colored with powder based pigments. Other manufacturers, even some of the well known ones, use liquid based pigments and those tend to fade a lot sooner than powder based pigment.
Water Based vs Solvent Based
If you are wondering if you need water based or solvent oil based paint, it really all comes down to preference and local code requirements. While many municipalities and cities don't have any specific codes on which paint you can use, some have started enforcing the use of only

Coverage
Understanding the coverage of the paint is an important factor when line striping. The typical airless line striper will produce a line that is 15 mils in thickness, but first, how thick is 15 mils, second, what if I'm not using an airless line striper and third, what about the surface condition? Actual coverage of this paint can be found in the Specifications tab.
How thick
Well, 1 mil stands for "1 Thousandth of an Inch". It's small. So, 15 mils

Custom Gray Colors
There are so many different shades of gray, it is difficult for us to offer a "base gray" color of paint, and have it match your environment. As suggested from our supplier, we recommend that you purchase both "White" and "Black" colors, then mix them together to achieve the color of gray you need. We understand this presents additional cost for the project and we apologize for the inconvenience, however, if you aren't picky about the color of gray you need, feel free to browse our Custom Color Palette and choose a gray.
