Description
Use our Slide-In Asphalt Patcher when you don't need your larger Asphalt Hot Box
Small cities and municipalities often use an Asphalt Patcher to maintain streets within the city which saves them money on outsourcing street repairs. This allows them to Patch Asphalt Pot-Holes using Hot Recycled Material which delivers better results and helps save even more money. Our 2 Ton Slide-In Asphalt Hot Box easily slides into smaller trucks which allows you to easily pull or dump the material (Using your truck dump bed) and is ideal for smaller repairs. This system utilizes a propane Fuel Source with a single 54,000 BTU burner and comes standard with our tubular in-shot burner system which allows for extremely even heat and eliminates hot spots that direct-fired burner systems create. The burner is centered which applies even heat to both sides of the boxes material bin. The hopper is gravity feed which makes for easy access and is made with one-piece seamless steel for lasting durability. We build this box using 10 gauge inner walls and 16 gauge outer walls with continuous welds and corner caps and forklift pockets are added for easy installation and removal from your work vehicle. This is a Fully Insulated Box ensuring that your material stays hot even when you're working in cold outdoor temperatures, and we add an additional 1/2" of Kaol Ceramic Insulation in the boxes bottom under the burner. If you Patch Asphalt as a service to your customers and need an affordable system, we believe that this Asphalt Patcher could be the solution your looking for.
Things to Consider
Hot mix asphalt is blended at temperatures between 270°F and 325°F. Depending on the environmental conditions and the distance from the hot mix plant to the job site, hot mix can lose between 5°F and 25°F in the first 30 minutes. The temperature of the mix on the base (pothole or patch area) is the most important factor in determining the available time for compaction. Hot mix should be at temperatures between 275°F and 300°F when placed on the patch area. Hot mix that is too cool will begin to set up and make it very difficult to work with or obtain the required or specified compacted density.
