ASD Coal Tar Asphalt Driveway Sealer is specially designed for residential asphalt driveways.
Beware of inexpensive, watered-down, discount store sealers. The best looking, longest lasting off-street asphalt pavements are protected with ASD ADVANCED FORMULA J-16 Driveway Sealer.
Unlike most sealers, it keeps natural elements, de-icing salts and automobile deposits from penetrating asphalt. Gas and oil can't eat it away. The sun can't dry it out. Winter moisture can't seep in, freeze and rip it apart.
Also, summer rain can't erode the foundation. The Advanced Formula J-16 Driveway Sealer extends pavement service life and makes pavements easier to clean. This unique, premium quality formulation lets you do it yourself with no costly mixing equipment. Easy-to-follow application directions are printed on every container.
Application: Use hand squeegees or brush applicators. Brush applicators are best on extremely smooth or rough open-textured surfaces. A previously unsealed driveway or one in marginal condition may require 2 coats of J-16 Driveway Sealer.
J-16 DRIVEWAY SEALER is available in two (2) grades:
The best time to use the Sand-Filled coal tar sealer, is on the first coat over new asphalt. This is great for moderate to heavy traffic areas because it allows for extra wear and it also provides additional traction where slip resistance is needed. The second and final top coat can be either Sand-Filled or Plain (No Sand -> Recommended).
Coverage: Quantities required will vary with porosity and texture of pavement surface, but general ranges are as follows:
LOW TRAFFIC
1st COAT J-16: 60 - 90 sq ft per gallon | Sand: 2 lbs / gallon
2nd COAT J-16: 90 - 112.5 sq ft per gallon | Sand: None
MODERATE TRAFFIC
1st COAT J-16: 75 - 90 sq ft per gallon | Sand: 2 lbs / gallon
2nd COAT J-16: 75 - 112.5 sq ft per gallon | Sand: None

Short Answer: Yes - All of the asphalt emulsion and coal tar sealcoat sealers we offer, are designed to be applied with either a sealcoat sprayer or manually with a sealcoat brush or squeegee. Gilsonite sealers can only be applied with a squeegee or mechanical pump.
